Rinpoche begins this teaching by explaining the meaning of the word mahamudra (chakgya-chenpo in Tibetan). He then presents clear and extensive explanations of the meaning and importance of devotion in mahamudra practice. Rinpoche illustrates the role of devotion in mahamudra practice with engaging stories. Rinpoche then teaches the three types or aspects of mahamudra: Sutra, Mantra, and Essence. (Talk 1). In Talk 2, Rinpoche provides profound teachings on Ground and Path mahamudra. He concludes Path mahamudra in Talk 3,followed by Fruition Mahamudra and an extensive opportunity for questions and answers. Translation was provided by Mitra Tyler Dewar and Lama Yeshe Gyamtso.
