Description
The Mahamudra journey begins with the preliminary practices. These practices are an essential part of bringing realization into our mind stream. It is said that the preliminaries are more profound than the main practice. In these five talks, Rinpoche presents teachings on the preliminary practices. He begins by discussing the importance of motivation and the meaning of vajrayana. Following a brief presentation of the four common preliminaries, Rinpoche teaches the uncommon preliminaries. Rather than present a line by line explanation of the practices, Rinpoche comments on the essential points of meaning associated with each practice, including the meaning of refuge, overcoming obstacles and accumulating merit, and devotion. Five talks. Restricted Teaching. The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche restricts the viewing of these DVDs to the following: 1.Those who attended the 2005 NB Sangha Retreat; 2.Those with direct permission of DPR. This last category includes students who are practicing Ngondro under Rinpoche's guidance.
