The Assembly Dharmas are transcripts of talks on the essential meaning of dharma given by Gampopa to his assembled students. These transcripts were carefully made by Gampopa’s nephew. Each assembly talk in this set is about 30 minutes long and presents a concise and accessible teaching on a complete path of dharma practice. Hearing these transcripts read and commented on my Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche and translated by Lama Yeshe Gyamtso conveys a genuine sense of what it must have been like to attend these teachings back in the twelfth century. Because Khenpo Karthar often speaks for long periods of time in Tibetan when he teaches, his long monologues have been curtailed on this CD recording (audio) to preserve the continuity of the teaching and make listening easier. Thus the voice heard for the majority of the time is that of the translator. DVD video recordings include all of the Tibetan.
