The Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment was composed by the Indian Buddhist master Atisha while he was teaching in Tibet. This text presents Atisha’s profound and concise response to questions posed by Tibetan masters about the Hinayana, Mahayana and Vajrayana paths. Ponlop Rinpoche’s teaching on this text is based on a commentary by Jamgon Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye. These talks provide instructions on the three types of practitioners, aspiration and application bodhicitta, training in discipline, training in concentration, and training in supreme knowledge and secret mantra.
