Description
How do we prepare for death? What happens to us a we die? What is our experience after death? These are the questions addressed by Bardor Tulku Rinpoche in his two talks given at the Hartford KTC in 1999. Rinpoche bases his talks on a text by the great Terton, Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa titled A Supplement to the Profound Meaning of Liberation Through Hearing, which is part of the cycle of teachings called Dispelling All Obstacles, the Accomplishment of the Heart of the Guru. Rinpoche also includes comments on the Bardos made by Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava). Both talks include lively question and answer sessions. These DVDs of this classic teaching are offered at a discount price because this 1999 recording was made with a single camera on a second-rate tripod under mediocre lighting conditions. However, even though the image quality is less than optimal, the sound is excellent and both Rinpoche and Lama Yeshe Gyamtso are seen close up, vibrant and lively. The whole teaching comes through in a direct and appealing way. This is a classic teaching by Bardor Rulku Rinpoche, with outstanding translation by Lama Yeshe Gyamtso.
Vajra Echoes Classic
Teachings
designated as "Classics" on our website are great values. They
are impeccably recorded and produced teachings with no technical flaws
that might diminish their viewing or listening value. These teachings
are among those that we
have permanently reduced in price due to the older technology
in use at the time they were recorded. However, each teaching selected
as a Classic is noteworthy as an important and foundational dharma
jewel. Classics particularly stand out for excellence of topic, clarity
of translation and the quality of the recording. They are stellar
supports for your path of study and practice, and
essentials for your dharma library.
Features
- Chapter Pointing on DVD video recordings
On this recording, chapter points have been set at each transition from Tibetan to English and from English to Tibetan. Because Rinpoche sometimes speaks in Tibetan for long periods at a time, some viewers may wish to jump forward to the English translation (at any time) by using the Next Chapter button (>>|) on their DVD player’s remote control. Also, for those who primarily speak Tibetan, the same process works for jumping from the English to the Tibetan.
